Autumn Chair and Rocker

Developed as the subject of Alan's Master's thesis, the Autumn chair is designed specifically for the ambulatory elderly.  Many features of these solid wood chairs assist in the ingress and egress as well as comfort for the user.  Utilizing the CNC equipment at Georgia Tech's Advanced Wood Products Lab, 23 units of the chairs were created.
  


The Autumn Chair was selected for exhibition at the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in the 1998 "Unlimited By Design" Exhibition. The Autumn Chair and Rocker were awarded Georgia Tech Records of Invention #2540 and #2618 respectively.
