Paralympic Throwing Platform

Created for the 1996 Paralympic Games, the throwing platform allows athletes who participate in shot put, javelin and discus to throw their implements safely.  By holding the users' chair down to the powder coated aluminum platform with vacuum cups, the athlete can exert tremendous forces without concern of tipping.  Handles are installed on the edges to allow for ease of movement around the events and storage.

Alan, Danny Corkran and Riley Hawkins were awarded Georgia Tech Record of Invention #1842 for the work on the platforms.
